Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is an Emmy award-winning American reality television series that premiered on the Bravo cable television network on July 15, 2003. The series was created by openly gay executive producer David Collins and his straight producing partner David Metzler, and produced by their production company, Scout Productions.

The show is premised on (and plays with) the stereotype that gay men are superior in matters of fashion, style, personal grooming, interior design and culture. In each episode, a team of five gay men—known collectively as the "Fab Five"—perform a makeover (in the parlance of the show, a "make-better") on a subject, usually a straight man, revamping his wardrobe, redecorating his home and offering advice on grooming, lifestyle and food.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy debuted in 2003 and quickly became both a surprise hit and one of the most talked-about television programs of 2003. The success of the show led to merchandising, franchising of the concept internationally, and a woman-oriented spin-off, Queer Eye for the Straight Girl. The show's name was shortened to Queer Eye at the beginning of its third season to reflect the show's change in direction from making over only straight men to including women and gay people. Queer Eye ended production in June 2006 and the final 10 episodes aired in October 2007. The series ended October 30.

Several DVDs were released in conjunction with the show. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy DVD was released in the market. Kressley, Filicia and Allen each had individual releases focusing on their areas of expertise. Douglas and Rodriguez were featured together in a single DVD focused on grooming. Additional DVD releases include Queer Eye for the Red Sox (featuring the team makeover episode) and a multi-disc box set.

Dog The Bounty Hunter on DVD

Dog the Bounty Hunter is a reality television show, featuring Duane "Dog" Chapman's operations at his job, Da Kine Bail Bonds in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dog is joined by his wife and business partner, Beth Smith Chapman, his sons Leland, Duane Lee, associate Tim Chapman and his daughter Lyssa Chapman. Besides Hawaii, episodes have been filmed in Dog Chapman's home state of Colorado and the city of San Francisco. The program was suspended indefinitely by A&E after Dog Chapman was recorded uttering racial slurs. The first Dog the Bounty Hunter DVD was released on January 25, 2005 which is entitled "The Best of Season", featuring all the highlights in the first season.

Show Details

The show is aired on A&E Networks in USA and on Virgin 1 and Bravo in the UK.

While the program mostly follows Chapman and his team in pursuits against actual criminals who violated the conditions of their bail, it also shows his life as a husband, as a father to some of his twelve children, and as an ex-convict. Chapman and Smith were married on May 20, 2006. Dog's compassionate side is frequently on display, as he looks for ways to coach his catches back to the right path.

The program spun off from their appearance in the show A&E Network's Take This Job, a program about people with unusual occupations. Both shows are produced for A&E by Hybrid Films, a New York-based production company. The concept of the program is to follow a family of bounty hunters as they capture fugitives.

The family also runs a bail bond business, Da Kine Bail Bonds, and has locations in Oahu, in Kona on the Big Island and also on the mainland in Denver, Colorado. The office on the Big Island is owned and run by Duane's son, Leland Chapman. The Oahu office is located at 1381 Queen Emma St. in Honolulu.

Chapman had a daughter named Barbara Katie who was killed in a car accident the day Duane and Beth married. Despite the death, the wedding ceremony commenced and the special episode was aired August 2006.

At a legislative hearing in Honolulu, where he appeared to oppose a bill under consideration that would effectively remove his ability to capture fugitives, he claimed to have captured 7000 fugitives.

The arrest and extradition in 2006

At approximately 6:00 am Hawaiian time on September 14, 2006, Duane Chapman, his son Leland and his associate Tim Chapman were arrested by US Marshals at the request of the Mexican government, on charges of bounty hunting, which is illegal in Mexico. On June 18, 2003, the Chapman trio captured convicted fugitive rapist Andrew Luster (heir to Max Factor cosmetics) who was wanted on 87 counts of rape. He had fled to Mexico. Duane, Leland and Tim have since been released on bail ($300,000 for Duane and $100,000 each for the other two).

On February 16, 2007, the second district court in Guadalajara denied a request for an injunction preventing extradition. The court ruled that Duane, Leland, and Tim should face trial on one count of "deprivation of liberty" in violation of the country's anti-bounty-hunting statutes. There have been multiple legal defense fund raising accounts set up for Duane, Leland, and Tim including one set up by Tanja "Doe," a victim of Andrew Luster.

On 1 August 2007, the ruling was appealed by the prosecution to overturn the decision. In Mexico most rulings such as this are automatically appealed and it can take some time for a decision to be made on the appeal. However, On 2 August, the First Criminal Court in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico dismissed all criminal charges pending against Dog, Tim and Leland Chapman on the grounds that the statute of limitations had expired. The order effectively cancelled all pending charges. The ruling, however, was appealed by the prosecution in order to overturn the lower court's decision. A&E was told that in Mexico, rulings against the prosecution are generally appealed as a matter of principle.

On 4 August 2007, on an episode of Larry King Live, while Duane "Dog" Chapman was talking, it was announced that the charges against Duane "Dog" Chapman, Leland Chapman, and Tim Chapman on the Andrew Luster case, had been dropped by the Mexican government.

The Man Show

The Man Show was a half hour comedy television show on Comedy Central. It was created in 1999 by its two original co-hosts, Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, and their executive producer Daniel Kellison.

The Man Show celebrated the stereotypical loutish male perspective in a sexually charged, humorous light. The Man Show consisted of a variety of pre-recorded comedy sketches and live in-studio events, usually requiring audience participation.

The Man Show is particularly well-known for its buxom female models, the "Juggy Dance Squad", who would dance in themed, revealing costumes at the opening of every show, and in the aisles of the audience just before The Man Show went to commercial break. The first year of The Man Show featured beer-guzzling entertainer Bill "The Fox" Foster as The Man Show's emcee. The Fox specialized in chugging two beers in record time (sometimes while suspended upside down) and singing lewd drinking songs. He would close every episode by leading the audience in the German drinking toast "Ziggy Socky, Ziggy Socky, Hoy, Hoy, Hoy!" (a misspelling of the actual Zicke, Zacke, Zicke, Zacke, Hoi, Hoi, Hoi!), a tradition that continued after his death in 2000.

As guaranteed when The Man Show began, every episode ends with footage of "girls jumping on trampolines" during the end credits.
A recurring character called The Man Show Boy, an overweight teenager named Aaron Hamill with a sharp wit, who would make precociously rude comments to unsuspecting passersby (often attractive women) while a hidden camera recorded his antics.
Frequent parody of NBA star Karl Malone performed by Kimmel, who was made up to appear black, muscular, and bearded, as well as shot from below to appear taller.
Game show parodies, including Wheel of Fortune parody "Wheel of Destiny", in which men from the audience vied to win prizes. In general, four of the eight prizes were desirable (e.g., a wheelbarrow full of alcoholic drinks, 30 minutes in the back of a van with an attractive woman), while the other four were not (e.g., one of the co-hosts peeing on the man's wallet, a "swirlie").
A "Man-O-Vations" segment, in which the two hosts proposed inventions for all manner of incidents.
A famous skit, often posted online, featured Carolla and Kimmel setting up a booth at a farmer's market and successfully asking people to sign a petition to "end women's suffrage," demanding the repeal of the 19th Amendment (which guarantees women's voting rights).
The Man Show tribute to The Benny Hill Show
In the Rogan/Stanhope era, sketches frequently aired featuring Doug and Joe's "Magic Negro", who was "zippity here, zippity there, and zippity everywhere." He would appear at any given moment to help the two out with an issue, which usually led to him singing a folk jingle about treating your penis right. The sketches intended to mock films which used the Magic Negro stock character. During the sketch the Negro himself would usually name films and actors who have portrayed the character.

G4 reruns and DVDs

Reruns of The Man Show are currently airing on G4TV weeknights at 10:00 p.m. ET and 10:30 p.m. ET and on Saturdays at 12:00 a.m. ET. It was originally thought that the Rogan-Stanhope-era episodes would not be shown because the commercials referred to the syndicated episodes as "the way Jimmy and Adam made it". However, Canadian channel MenTV includes the Rogan/Stanhope episodes in its schedule.

The first four seasons of The Man Show are also available on DVD.

Survivor: All Stars Review

Survivor: All-Stars is the eighth installment of the popular television reality show Survivor. It was taped in 2003 and debuted in the United States on CBS on February 1, 2004 after Super Bowl XXXVIII. It was set on the Pearl Islands of Panama, where the previous Survivor: Pearl Islands had just finished. The winner of this series was Amber Brkich, whose 4-3 victory over Rob Mariano was announced on live television on May 9, 2004. At the end of the series a twist called America's Tribal Council was broadcast live on May 13, 2004. It involved the public voting for who they wanted to win a second million dollar prize. When the show was broadcast Rupert Boneham won the million dollars.

This season of the series featured the return of eighteen players from previous seasons, divided into three teams: Chapera, Mogo Mogo, and Saboga. The three tribes each are named after various islands of the Pearl Islands. During the fifth episode, the Saboga tribe was dissolved and its members divided between the other two tribes. In the ninth episode, the ten remaining contestants randomly chose new tribal memberships; improbably, every contestant but Brkich swapped teams. One episode later, the two teams merged into a tribe called Chaboga Mogo, named by the Survivors for a combination of all three tribes (CHApera, SaBOGA, MOGO Mogo).

This season was released on DVD on September 14, 2004.

For the second and third times ever in Survivor, two contestants voluntarily quit the game for personal reasons rather than being voted off. Jenna Morasca left during episode three over mounting concern for her mother's health. Her mother ultimately succumbed to cancer eight days after Jenna's resignation. Sue Hawk left distraught in episode six, one day after an incident during an immunity challenge in which a naked Richard Hatch had brief but inappropriate bodily contact with her.

One unexpected aspect of this series was the transformation of the relationship between Amber Brkich and Rob Mariano from an alliance within the game to a romantic relationship. This climaxed during the live finale when just before the reading of the final votes, Mariano proposed marriage and Brkich accepted.

A second surprise at the reunion show was the announcement that a second million dollar prize would be awarded to the All-Star player who received the most votes from viewers who could call in or vote online. The winner, announced on May 13, was Rupert Boneham. Boneham won an overwhelming victory over the other seventeen players, receiving 85% of the 38 million votes cast (Tom Buchanan, Colby Donaldson and Rob Mariano also finished in the top four).

Supernanny is a British reality television programme that is about aiding parents with misbehaving children. It has been broadcast or slightly adapted in other countries. Supernanny has done well internationally but exceptionally well in the UK and US.

The UK and US versions of the show feature Jo Frost, a nanny who, in each episode, helps a family with children who are uncontrollable or excessively naughty. Using a variety of methods, she helps to show parents ways of disciplining their children and maintaining order in their households. She is noted for emphasising praise and positive encouragement when dealing with children.

United Kingdom

Supernanny was originally broadcast in the UK at the beginning of the Autumn/Winter season on Channel 4 in 2004, starring Jo Frost. Supernanny is one of Channel 4's most popular shows, reaching nearly 5 million viewers in the first season, with consistently high ratings throughout the series. Supernanny US is also shown on Channel 4 (and its sister channel E4) with respectable viewing figures. The premiere episode for the third series attracted 3.1 million viewers with a 14% audience share. These values are half of those from the previous two series. It is narrated by Nick Frost. The theme song is "Be Good Johnny" by Men at Work (though the show's version is a cover). The fourth series of Supernanny began on August 29, 2007 at 8pm with Beyond The Naughty Step following straight afterwards on E4.

United States

Supernanny began in the US in January 2005 on ABC, competing with Nanny 911. It had exactly the same title and exactly the same premise as the UK version, but was narrated by Jeff Bartsch. Jo Frost remains the Supernanny. On January 26, 2007, it was announced that Supernanny has been renewed through the 2007-2008 season by ABC. So much mayhem occurs in the first 80 minutes that the bloodshed in the last reel is almost anti-climactic. As always, the ubiquitous Smith rises above his material.

Science Fiction: Caved In - Prehistoric Terror

Caved In: Prehistoric Terror is a "Sci-Fi Original" motion picture, created by the Sci-Fi channel. It follows a party of tourists who become trapped underground by a cave-in, and who are then killed one by one by giant prehistoric rhinoceros beetles.

The movie is infamous for its not-so-subtle "kill lines." These kill lines are lines said by actors right before they are killed, essentially telling the viewer how they will be killed. (e.g. right before getting one's head sliced open, one would say, "Argh, I have a splitting headache!") It is just one of the many Sci-Fi originals that is focused on being trapped in a confined area while being hunted by mutated species.

Science Fiction/Action/Horror Movie: Predator II DVD

Predator 2 (1990) is a science fiction horror film starring Danny Glover and Gary Busey. It is a sequel to the successful 1987 film Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Apart from actor Kevin Peter Hall in the role of the Predator and a very brief cameo appearance by Elpidia Carrillo, the film has an entirely new cast. The movie received mixed reviews, with Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert suggesting it represents an "angry and ugly" dream.

Predator 2 established several new facts about the predator creatures, painting them less harshly than in the original film. The predators are portrayed as noble hunters, following a code in which they refuse to kill unarmed, ill or pregnant prey. This was hinted at in the 1987 film when an unarmed Anna (Elpidia Carrillo) was never attacked, and when the Predator removed his armor to face Dutch in a fair fight. At the end of Predator 2, after Harrigan (Glover) kills the creature, he is suddenly surrounded by additional predators. Presumably because their comrade was defeated in a fair match, they let Harrigan leave and even give him a trophy (flintlock gun) in honor of his victory.

Near the end of the film, a Xenomorph skull can be seen in the predator's trophy collection. The first time the Alien and Predator franchises were combined was in November of 1989 when Dark Horse Comics released Aliens vs. Predator. This combination would also later be explored in various video games, and the films Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).

Synopsis

Predator is a 1987 science fiction, action and horror film directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura. It grossed $60 million in the United States, generating the sequels Predator 2 in 1990, Alien vs. Predator in 2004 and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem in 2007.

The Predator film utilizes a story of the hunter becoming the hunted. The creature, known as "the Predator" (known in spin-offs as being of the species Yautja), is an alien humanoid with advanced technology and a penchant for hunting difficult game. With interstellar travel capability, multi-spectrum vision enhancement and a light-bending armor suit with equally advanced weaponry, the Predator is supposedly able to travel anywhere, hunt anything and usually succeed. Much of the Predator's history and motivation are left open to the viewer, but after the success of this film, a franchise was created with a detailed back-story on the creature, complete with a battle-based society where young Predators are trained within a galaxy of fierce beasts documented in the third movie of the series, Alien vs. Predator (2004).

Predator DVD was the first of the series, as the creature descends on Earth interested in hunting exotic game (in this case humans). In background information released after the film, the Predator scans the Earth's broadcast frequencies and chooses Central America as a location. A U.S. Special Forces unit is also en route to the same location, and during their operations stumble upon the Predator hunting humans. The military unit possesses significant firepower, which attracts the creature's attention as a more sporting target. During the film's final conflict, only one American is left (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) and a cat and mouse game begins with each adversary hunting the other.

Synopsis

Dutch (Arnlod Schwarzenegger) and a team of commandos have been sent into a Central American jungle to track down some missing airmen that were kidnapped by terrorists. By the time they get to the camp, the airmen have been butchered in a very violent fashion and the commandos retaliate on the terrorists' camp. After that's over, they wait for a helicopter to pick them up, but something strange begins to happen in the woods. It isn't long before the commandos start getting killed off and Dutch and a girl from the camp, Anna (Elpidia Carrillo), are the only people left and fighting for their lives. But what they discover is too shocking for them to imagine. What's been killing them is the Predator, an alien that hunts rare species and make his trophies out of their skulls. And human beings are the new species he has discovered.

Meat Weed Madness is horror/comedy movie from 2006. A 24-year-old first time director Aiden Dillard funded this movie with money he saved while washing dishes at a BBQ restaurant and delivering pizzas. Meat Weed Madness DVD is a low budgeted film but has a good story. Aiden Dillard got the idea for this film from his wish to create a moving image of a papier mache cow, which is indeed one of the most important scenes in the opening of the film. If only he has enough money to produce this film, I guess it could have been much better. Pretty inspiring to those film makers that lacks financially.

Clerks II is the sequel to Kevin Smith's 1994 movie Clerks, and his sixth feature film to be set in the View Askewniverse. The film premiered on July 21, 2006; the movie is nominated at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the 2006 Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The film opened in 2,150 theaters on July 21, 2006 and grossed $10,061,132 domestically in its first weekend. The film's theatrical gross was $24,148,068 domestically, plus an additional $2,833,903 foreign, turning a profit on its reported budget of $5,000,000. Although it was received with generally favorable reviews by critics, the View Askewniverse's cult fan base has been fairly positive about the film.

The Clerks II DVD was released on November 28, 2006.

On December 7 Hollywood Reporterreports on the DVD sales: "The sleeper of the week, however, is the Weinstein Co.'s "Clerks II," which came to video after earning only $24.2 million in theaters but bowed at No. 4 on both the sales and rental charts."

Sypnosis

A calamity at Dante and Randall's shops sends them looking for new horizons - but they ultimately settle at Mooby's, a fictional Disney-McDonald's-style fast-food empire. Free from his dead-end job (and lodged in a new one), Dante begins to break free of his rut, planning to move away with his clingy fiancé. Dante is ready to leave the horrors of minimum-wage New Jersey behind, but Randal - always the more hostile of the two - starts to become overwhelmed by his own rancor.
